Nigeria ended its Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games campaign as Africa’s highest-ranked nation, finishing seventh on the final medals table with 10 gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals for a total haul of 24 medals.
The final standings released by the Glasgow 2026 organisers showed Australia retaining its dominance with 171 medals, comprising 70 gold, 45 silver and 56 bronze. England finished second with 110 medals, while Canada placed third with 62 medals.
India and hosts Scotland occupied fourth and fifth positions respectively with 39 medals each, while New Zealand finished sixth with 36 medals. Nigeria followed in seventh place.

- Jamaica – 10 gold, 4 silver, 5 bronze (19)
- Wales – 9 gold, 10 silver, 12 bronze (31)
- Malaysia – 8 gold, 3 silver, 5 bronze (16).
Among African nations, Nigeria finished comfortably ahead of South Africa, which placed 11th overall with seven gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze medals. Kenya followed in 13th position with three gold, four silver and five bronze medals, while Mauritius finished 15th with one gold, two silver and one bronze medal. Cameroon placed 16th with one gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
Further down the African standings, Uganda finished 27th with two silver and one bronze medal, Ghana ended 30th with one silver and one bronze medal, while Lesotho, Zambia, Gabon and Rwanda also secured medals during the Games.
The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games concluded on Sunday after 11 days of competition, with athletes from across the Commonwealth competing in 10 sports, including integrated Para events.
Nigeria’s seventh-place finish reaffirmed the country’s status as the leading African nation at the Games, ahead of continental rivals South Africa and Kenya.
The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games have officially concluded following the completion of all medal events and the closing ceremony held on Sunday.

With the conclusion of the Games, the Commonwealth Games Federation officially handed over hosting responsibilities to Ahmedabad, India, which will stage the next Commonwealth Games in 2030.
