Team Bayelsa maintained it’s early lead at the top of the Medals table after Day 4 of hostilities at the 22nd National Sports Festival, tagged 2024 Gateway Games.
The Bayelsa state Team has 16 Gold medals , 6 silver and 5 bronze medals.
Meanwhile defending Champion Delta state has moved to second spot after a slow start with 10 Gold , 5 silver and 6 bronze medals.
In third position, is Osun state with 6 Gold medals and 1 silver closely followed by Team Rivers State with 5 gold medals, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals in fourth position.
Lagos state completes the top five with 4 Gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze medals.
Oyo State is 6th with 4 Gold medals, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals.
Akwa Ibom state is occupying the 7th spot with 4 Gold and 1 silver while Plateau state is 8th with 3 Gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals.
Cross River is 9th with 3 Gold medals, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal as Edo completes the top ten table with 2 Gold , 15 silver and 16 bronze medals.
The Invited Junior Athletes ( IJA) occupies the 11th position with their 2 gold medals, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.
A total of 199 medals have been won so far after Day 4 with the breakdown as follows; 61 Gold, 61 silver and 77 bronze medals.
