The Special assistant on Grassroots Sports development, to the honourable minister of sports, Adeyinka Anthony Adeboye, has praised the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the honourable minister of sports, Senator, John Enoh Owan for their lofty and pivotal roles they have played for the super Eagles, which has driven the team to the finals of the ongoing AFCON tournament in Cote D’Ivoire.
An elated Adeboye, has credited the Eagles feat in Cote D’Ivoire, to president Tinubu for his unflinching support for the eagles before and till this stage of the tournament.
“I want to specially thank Mr. President, for his undying and huge support and for providing all the necessary ingredients the Eagles needed for this tournament, and we are grateful to God, that all the efforts of the president has propelled the team to the final, and by the special grace of God, the cup will be in Aso Rock” he said.
Meanwhile, Adeboye, added that, the ever reliable Sports Minister, is a great and very good man, who listens and made sure the Eagles are in a very pleasing position to lift the AFCON title.
“Iam very overjoyed for the eagles, making the finals, but the sports minister, must also get all the accolades, he deserves, because, his roles through the president, has yielded fruits in this AFCON”
“I also give credit to the Eagles, for their resilience and great team spirit, which has taken them thus far, and I know they will conquer Africa, come Sunday” he concluded.
Super Eagles, triumphed over one of their perennial rivals, South Africa 4-2 on penalties, after a pulsating regulation and extra time ended 1-1.
The super Eagles, will face the host country, Cote D’Ivoire in the final on Sunday, after they defeated Congo DR, 1-0 in the second semi final.
